Ships, ropes and other things in Denmark

These are called “Strawberries” in Danish (Jordbær). They protect the edges of ships from damages.

Not all ships are in motion today. Most are satisfied with taking a lazy break in a harbor far away.

3 Countries came together for a show of flags, and a show of rigged ships.

The less interesting were consigned to the backwaters, until the main event was over and done with.

There were lots of masts to look at. And ropes. And much talk, in Danish, Swedish and Norwegian.

Not all boats seemed to be seaworthy, but it was just a feeling that I had.

I chose to contemplate this anchor, which seemed to be out of place, but it just could have been me, who didn’t belong?

I guess if I felt out of place, I could always seek out painted rocks instead….

My heathen tendencies are waiting to blossom at the Mid-Summer Evening in Denmark. In a Country that professes to have an overwhelming population of believers in the Christian Faith, I am always reassured by their pagan ways, at least one night per year. I won't be throwing myself on the bonfire, but I plan on being warmed by the thoughts of the fun-loving Danes, burning witches at the stake, while singing songs and drinking beer!
